STEP ONE: PLAN THE DATE
STEP THREE: PREP YOUR CRASHPAD
Now for the not so fun part: the preparation. This is the time to clean the house, prep the backyard, and buy decorations. You might want to make a list of everything you plan on buying and give yourself a budget. It’s really easy to walk into the craft or party store and spend unnecessary money. Also, figure out if you have enough entertainment at your house or if you need to find some for your guests. Have a pool? Decorate the surrounding area to make it beach worthy, and get some cool floats like this one. They make a “water version” of almost any sport, so you could also try those. Have corn-hole boards? Set them out and make a tournament. Anything that keeps people outside enjoying the nice weather is a good move.
STEP FOUR: FINAL TOUCHES
Once the house is ready and the day of the party is here (or at least near) it is time to get to thinking about refreshments. To make your life easier, I would suggest going out and buying all of the pop, snacks, and dessert items you want to provide at least a day or two early. If you’re ordering food, call the restaurant early and tell them how much food you need and what time you’d like it to arrive. From personal experience I can tell you if you order eight pizzas and want it there in thirty minutes, you’re probably not going to get it for at least an hour. And since this is supposed to be an end-of-summer-bash, you have an excuse to make some tropical drinks!
