Find a Date
Pick the Venue
Plan a Theme
Do you just want a general costume party? A couple’s party? Or are you just looking to get people together and watch scary movies? These are things that you’ll want to figure out sooner than later, mainly so you can give your guests a heads up. You don’t want people showing up in their street clothes and leaving after five minutes because they feel out of place. Plus, if people should be in full Halloween attire, you should give them time to plan their costumes. Cute ideas like this probably took some time!
Figure Out Food
Decide on Drinks
If you’re planning on having drinks at the party, you might want to treat it kind of like the food situation: supply a little, but have friends bring what they want. Alcohol can be expensive, and you probably don’t want to be responsible for all of it. As for anyone under 21, if you’re throwing a party you might have to figure out a way to keep alcohol out of the situation (which is harder than it sounds, since most kids assume that “party” is synonymous with “booze”). Either way, just be clear whether you’ll be providing the drinks or not and no one will be up and arms over it. And don't forget things like napkins, plates, cups, and any other small details that will make the night run smoothly!
