WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Paint (mine was by Martha Stewart which was at Michaels)
Chalk (if you decide to use chalk paint)
Decide where you want the glass to be painted. At my sister’s wedding shower, she had glasses with chalk paint at the bottom of the glass and made a gradient towards the top of the glass. But you can always tape off the glass in different ways (like this blue one) to make any shape or design you want! You could even go all out and make intricate designs like this! I taped mine so that the chalk paint made a large, pink band around my mug.
Now it’s time to paint! Simply brush or spray on your paint, avoiding the top rim of the glass (no one wants to drink directly off of paint). Make sure you’re not leaving streaks or bare spots, especially if you use chalk paint. You want the paint nice and even where you intend for people to write on. It should look something like this!
I hope this DIY gives you some inspiration for your special day! And for even more inspiration, check out the bridal show at The Mohicans on September 11! The event starts at noon and ends at five o’clock! And if you try this project yourself, make sure to leave a comment and let us know on social media!
