All you need is a clean, glass bottle, some paint, and some paper towels. First, put some newspaper or paper towels down on whatever your workspace is, just in case you manage to pour some paint down the side of the bottle.
Next, take your paint and begin to pour it into your bottle. You only need to pour it for a few seconds to get enough to cover the inside of the glass. Try to dump it straight to the bottom of the bottle rather than pouring it around the edges. I tried the latter and it took so much more paint to cover the entire thing, which was a big waste. Then, just roll the bottle around so the paint spreads across the entire inside of the bottle. I also tried blocking the top of the bottle with a paper towel and shaking it, which worked pretty well.
After this, you just need to let it dry and let the extra paint drain out. I just used a plastic cup and set the bottle inside to drain, but you certainly can do this however you please. You could even use a metal cooling rack to drain out the excess over a cookie sheet!
Once it’s dry, you can put your flowers in and you’re good to go! Just make sure that if you’re using plain old acrylic paint like myself, you don’t pour water inside (it will ruin the paint and likely kill the flowers). Or you could use faux flowers like I did to simplify it all. Then you’re done!
