Wedding invitations can be pricey, and most people don’t see the worth. But I think if your invitations are super personal and fun, they’re absolutely worth the money. Unless it reflects your wedding, you don’t have to go with a super formal-looking invitation. Why not go a little crazy and send out invites that have a little pizazz? Take this one for example! Such a cute concept, but not over the top, and probably no other invites you’ll get this year will look like it. Now tell me your friends won’t be hyped for your wedding with this hanging on their refrigerator?
You also shouldn’t rule out do-it-yourself invitations. Obviously if you’re planning on having 500 people, that wouldn’t be practical, but 100 or less is absolutely doable. Especially if you’ve got a few bridesmaids to help you out!
The desserts have also gotten more creative this past year, and this year is sure to show new trends in tasty treats! Of course the traditional cake is great, but usually you’ll want more variety than just that. One of my favorite trends in wedding desserts is this one: the donut bar. Who doesn’t love a nice glazed donut for dessert? Creative ideas like this are sure to make your wedding one to remember!
If you haven’t already noticed on social media, photo booths and hashtags for your wedding have become a real thing! It not only means that you have a record of your guests, but you also get to see all the fun they had!
I also love the idea of having your guests sign something more than just a booklet. Recently I went to a wedding where the bride and groom had the guests write a little note on a picture frame. That’s something that they can keep in their home and have a visual reminder of their special day. I also love the puzzle-piece trend that seems to be gaining speed. Just having some kind of visual element to a guest book will be huge throughout 2017.
