If you're from Ohio and you live anywhere near the Akron area, chances are you've at least heard of The Gorge. It's a stunning walking trail that you follow down a river. There are rough, rocky areas to explore and places you can stop to just enjoy the sound of rushing water. The last time I visited this trail, it was rainy and 55 degrees, and I still had a fantastic time! I would highly recommend checking this one out if you have not already.
Mohican Valley Trail
If you're planning a stay with The Mohicans, you might want to check out what kind of trails are around the area. One of those trails is the Mohican Valley Trail, which is pretty close to The Mohicans. If you check out our Things To Do tab, you can get more info as I did right here. Though I have never actually been through this trail myself, based on its history and some photos I have seen, it looks like a great trail to try out! You can even take bikes or ride on horseback to explore this trail, which sounds awesome!
I know I have talked about Nelson Ledges before, but since I never touched on the trails there I figured it was worth a shout-out. Not only does this area provide cliff jumping experiences and host music festivals, it also has areas for hikers as well! You do have to pay to get into the park, which is a bummer. However, the money seems to be going to a good cause, and the views are so incredible I find it worth the cash.
