Do Your Homework
If you’re not already an outdoorsy person, or you just want to branch out a little more, trying new things can be intimidating. Let’s say you’ve always wanted to go hiking, for example. Just putting on some tennis shoes and driving to the nearest wooded area isn’t always the best plan, especially if you don’t have much experience. Don’t be afraid to do a little research and find activities geared towards your expertise level, what kind of gear you’ll need, and what kind of a day you’re signing up for once you step out into mother nature. You’ll have a better chance of enjoying your day instead of your nerves getting the better of you.
Leap of Faith
Don’t get me wrong: a peaceful, quiet day to just be alone and enjoy the outdoors is great. But the most fun adventures I have ever had have always been shared with others. Found a new biking trail? Take your sister along for the ride. Feel like taking the ATV’s out for the day? Gather up your buddies and tear it up. No matter who you’re bringing or what you’re doing, chances are you’ll have more fun together than you would alone.
